Membership Eligibility

SMI membership is limited to two types of organizations:

Provider Partners

These include integrated delivery networks (IDNs), healthcare networks represented along the continuum of care, and/or academic medical centers. The designated member is the senior executive responsible for the supply chain of the provider organization.
Provider organizations must:

  • be the purchaser of products and services used in the delivery of care for its own patients and whose major mission is patient care.
  • have a designated member that is the senior executive responsible for the supply chain of the provider organization with the capacity to affect operational change throughout the organization.

Industry Partners

Industry Partners are manufacturers of medical surgical supplies/devices and equipment, distributors; service providers; IT and data companies; and other suppliers of goods and/or services to healthcare facilities. The designated member is to be a senior executive with the capacity to affect operational change throughout the organization.

  • Provider organizations including integrated delivery networks (IDNs), healthcare networks, and academic medical centers.
  • Industry organizations that support the healthcare enterprise, which include suppliers, service providers, IT/Technology firms, manufacturers , distributors, and disruptors.
