SMI Announces New Board Members

Kingston, MA (February 7, 2023):    SMI®, a non-profit, community of healthcare supply chain organizations, announced that it has appointed Donna Drummond, SVP, Chief Expense Officer, and Chief Sustainability Officer from Northwell Health as Board Chair.  Drummond, who follows one of SMI’s founding members Steve Gundersen, will serve for a two-year term.  Joining Drummond are new Board members Christine Arme, Vice President Healthcare Systems at 3M, Alan Mavis, Senior Director of National Accounts at Baxter, Robert Rajalingam, President, U.S. Medical Products & Distribution at Cardinal Health, and Mark Welch, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at Novant Health.

The SMI Board of Directors consists of twelve members, 6 provider partners and 6 industry partners ensuring a balanced representation of its membership.  Board members set the strategic direction of the organization and meet in-person twice per year at SMI Forums.  Drummond, Arme, Mavis, Rajalingam, and Welch all serve on SMI Thought Leadership Councils which focus on strategic imperatives including collaboration, resilience, supplier diversity, clinical integration, and partnering with numerous like-minded supply chain organizations like the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS).

Drummond, who has been a member of SMI since 2009 and a Board member since 2018 said, “it is a privilege to serve as Board Chair to lead an organization known for its commitment to the healthcare supply chain industry.  As Board Chair, I am honored to lead this organization of over 200 thought-leaders, working side-by-side to confront new challenges and uncover new possibilities that will move the industry forward.”
